After graduating from the business school at the University of Washington with emphasized studies in Finance, Melissa began her career in the financial services industry when she joined Pacific Capital Resource Group, Inc. in 1998.

Melissa has earned several awards during her career with Pacific Capital. In 2000, Melissa was named career builder of the Year and in 2001, she was named Associate of the Year. In 2002, Melissa’s success in client acquisition earned her a promotion to sales manager and Executive Vice President, where she spent 3 successful years training, developing, and recruiting new advisors into the career. She earned two Bronze International Management Awards from GAMA for management excellence during this period.

As a producer for Pacific Capital, Melissa has been recognized as a leading producer, having earned Penn Mutual's Royal Blue Club in 5 consecutive years. She is also a Million Dollar Round Table qualifier.

Melissa earned the Chartered Financial Consultant’s designation in 2002, from the American College of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She became a Certified Financial Planner® as well in 2002. 

Melissa is a member of many industry and community associations including the National Association for Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce, the Renton Chapter of BNI, and the Treasurer for WANC of Alpha Xi Delta at the University of Washington.

Melissa is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of HTK.
